Online water payments 

Online water payments are offered strictly as a convenience to you, our water district member

We’ve received a complaint about the 3% convenience fee applied when paying by debit or credit card. Please note that Chicopee Rural Water District does not set these fees. We use Helcim’s “Fee Saver” option to ensure the district does not incur additional costs associated with credit card processing.

The water district DOES NOT receive any financial benefit from fees. Online water payment options are provided solely as a convenience to our members. As a small water district, we simply cannot afford to maintain a credit card processor that charges monthly service fees. This approach allows us to continue providing online payment option without increasing costs for all members.

This also keeps things fair for everyone — especially for those members who choose to pay by check or cash, which do not include any extra fees.

If you do not agree with the 3% card fee (which is clearly shown before you make a payment), you can choose the following options:

• Choose to pay online by ACH (minimal variable fee based on the amount), or

• Write a check or pay with cash (zero fee), place it together with your water bill in a sealed envelope, and drop it in the drop box located on Craig Road, 

or

Mail your payment (together with a water bill) to:
